The process to set up a management Control Panel consists in 6 stages:
1. To obtain information by identifying the various parties concerned
2. Identifying the most significant aspects of the company´s operations.
3. To define a relevant unit
4. Knowing who collects which data and where to find them
5. To select performance indicators
6. Announcing performances to the various stakeholders.

Form of output
The output takes the form of a variety of performance indicators gathered into the Control Panel that expresses the institution in operation.

Performance indicators are defined in various domains (air, refuse, energy, water, training, transport, etc.) regards to the sector considered (ex: garages/micro-businesses, institutional catering, local authorities, Cultural establishments, etc.)

Examples of performance indicators for Cultural establishments:
• kWh of electricity/seating capacity
• kg of environmentally-friendly paint used for decoration/kg of total paint
• Volume of hazardous goods used/artistic production

What format is the tool available in?
The procedure to establish an Environmental management Control Panel is available on paper and electronic format, but every institution has to develop its own Control Panel.
