“It is in principle possible for an award to be applied for a significant time after completion of the applicant project, the best process will involve:
• an early (in the project’s development)decision to apply;
• early appointment of Assessor and Verifier;
• a scoping meeting at an appropriate time, such as when the project has progressed far enough to be able to determine if questions do not apply (for example, information about contamination, results of archaeological investigations, ecological assessments etc would have to be available in order to make scoping-out decisions);
• gathering of the necessary supporting information by the Assessor as the project proceeds;
• verification at or very soon after completion of the project, or for the design-only award at or very soon after the design is completed.
On long-duration projects, interim Verifications may also be appropriate, and specific arrangements for these will be negotiate by CEEQUAL and the Applicant as the need arises” (CEEQUAL Manual).
