When was the tool produced
The Control Panel was developed during a 2years applied research project called GERMAINE that begun at the end of 2000 and finished at the end of 2002.

It has not yet been upgraded.

Is support provided
The Control Panel has been developed during the applied research project GERMAINE that provides participating businesses with free environmental consultancy services and help. An eco-consultant from ABECE (Belgian Association of Eco-advisers) supports the implementation of the Control Panel.

Organisation/s that developed the tool and country of origin
The Control Panel has been developed during a two-years applied research project called GERMAINE sponsored by the SSTC (scientific, technical and cultural departments of the [Belgian] federal government).

Is the tool newly developed or based on an exisiting tool
Performance indicators of the Environmental Management control Panel have been developed to be useful in standard European procedures (EMAS, ISO 1400, etc…) So, if businesses decided to develop these standard procedures afterwards, the task will be facilitated.

Cost of the full tool
The procedure to set up an Environmental Management control Panel could be obtained for free, but to implement it is time consuming for the company.
