Opinion of toolsName of the case study Housing regeneration project 2MW, Schalkwijk, Haarlem
Name of tool DCBA scheme. Opinion of tool - argumentation for choosing the tool The motivation to use the tool of participation is to make the plan more sustainable on the long term.
The Tool gave confidence to the people that the environment is an important issue in the restructuring process. Opinion of tool - barriers for the tool implementation The DCBA tool was not efficiently used in this case, but three example projects on the area of sustainability were started. These projects on waste, energy and social aspects that can be used to prove that the chosen levels can be reached elsewhere in the neighbourhood or elsewhere in Schalkwijk, Haarlem or elsewhere in the Netherlands.
The measurements which where mentioned as representative for the level were sometimes not used as an example, but as an agreement. The instrument however is meant to be less rigid. On the other hand it is sometimes difficult to say wich measurements should be used. On this site the tool is not specific enough. Research is needed to decide what measurements should be taken in different types of projects.
