Tool summaryName of the tool Context Analysis Description of the tool The context analysis is a planning tool for comparing and assessing the sustainability of different urban ecological projects. The core of the planning tool is an assessment method building on both technical and social elements of the planning process. The departure of the development project is that no technique is inherently sustainable, or ecological, in itself, but the sustainability of the total system of technologies for a settlement in a given location must be assessed in a holistic and transparent manner. The analysis integrates different actor groups and their perspectives.
The context analysis includes 3 elements:
1. A locality analysis
2. A multi criteria analysis
3. A dialogue workshop
The elements can be used separately.
Specific topic The basic elements can be used in most sectors. So far the tool has been used in both the water sector as well as in the building sector. The tool can be developed to match other sectors. Sector/s of use
