The cities of Bristol/UK, Codigoro/I, Dresden/D, Ferrara/I, Lausanne/CH, Lyon/F, Oeiras Amadora/P (close to Lisbon), Oslo/N, Reggio Emilia/I, Roubaix Tourcoing/F, Stuttgart/D and Trondheim/D have acted as CARE-W end users, and have tested the system. The CARE-W system is currently being tested, reviewed and validated by the end-users.

CARE-W system is a toolkit. The end user may run all the tools or a selection, depending on the problem to be solved.
- Generic statistics on the general performance of the water network may be obtained from the PI (performance indicator) tool
- The FAIL tool predicts the probability of pipe breaks
- The REL tool combines this information (fail tool) with the hydraulic importance of the pipes, thus allowing the service reliability to be predicted
- The previous information is fed into ARP (Annual Rehabilitation planning) tool that use a multi-criteria selection procedure to rank different rehabilitation projects
- The LTP (Long Term Planning) tool generate information relevant for master plans

The CARE-W approach (consultancy and software) will be useful for:
