The model is based on case-studies in Stockholm and Uppsala, where it has also been tested. 6 municipalities have used the model, and also some private companies (including Norsk Hydro and Birka Energi).
The Danish EPA has used ORWARE to assess the environmental consequences of different ways to manage organic waste (on national level)
